*bored old bugger*

Salaam everyone,

Actually, I am a bit reluctant to update cos there's just not much to say how the week has been.

The usual, routine and daily activities that somehow fulfill my happy days. Yes, I admit, sometimes I do feel down and sad, hence I grumble (to myself, most of the time) but most of the time, heck I am BEYOND happy. Well, more like... at peace. ;)

Fill most of the weekend with readings for my assignment due next month; well it's because the lecturer requests for us to draft the outline of the assignment to see if we're on the right track. As for me, I decided to focus on ethnic minorities under-representation in the workplace. It's shocking upon reading some of the articles to find out facts about ethnic minorities in the UK when it comes to employment. But ofcourse I wouldn't want to bore you with my critical analysis of the case now, would I? ;)

Anyways, I have a few more readings to do for next week's classes. So far, Alhamdulillah, Allah has made it easy for me to focus my concentration on my studies. With only a few minor distractions that I allow to have every now and then (hee hee), so far.. everything seems to be falling into place, insya Allah, hopefully the feeling lasts :D

Oh. The picture is what I have for my night snack ;)

And found out that my first cousin's wife gave birth to a babyboy. Bring on the kids to spoil~ :D

I was reading an interesting journal regarding the Shia-Sunni Unity. Now, I admit, prior to coming to UK to further my studies and prior to the submission of my Faith by practising my modesty through wearing hijab, I was an ignorant and passive muslimah who knew next to nothing about the rest of the Islamic world. Where I grew up, my community, my nation, my fellow surrounding were the only thing that concerned me. For me, the rest of the world is like another world, and I wasn't keen on finding out more.

Man, was I so so wrong!

Alhamdulillah, my interest on finding out more about my brothers and sisters in Islam increase my fascination on issues that relate to the muslim ummah. A professor in Salford, who is a personal friend of mine, is a member of the Palestine Soliditary Campaign and our last meet-up involved a lot of issues and stories told based on experience and support towards the injustice being done in Palestine. Shocking, I tell you. Shocking upon hearing those stories. I even requested for a short video of Israeli soldiers' treatment at checkpoints and heard that it's awfully disturbing. Insya Allah, when I get hold of the copy, I'll share it here.

I thought to myself, "At least, you gotta start somewhere to make a difference, eventhough it might be small... but at least you try"

Sigh. Out of topic. I know.

If you're interested to read the journal about the history and misconceptions of Shia practice, click here.

Well, I best stop it here before I start making comments and arguments on why there are still occupational segregation and why despite having the same qualifications and job responsibilities, women tend to earn two thirds of what men earn!! THE INJUSTICE, I tell you!! (Blame it on the articles I'm currently indulging... women in management; breaking through the glass ceiling - aaaah life indeed is a bliss)

And the beauty of a woman,
with passing years - only grows!

So so true! ;)

Allah hafiz.
